In 1995, Bruni and Eckhard Thalwitz opened Eckhard's Restaurant, serving primarily German cuisine. In 2004, Roberta Bradwick and Donald Marvin took over the restaurant.
Coming from Western New York with over thirty years of restaurant experience, Roberta and Donald kept Eckhard's best German dishes and added Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood and authentic Italian cuisine.
Every evening, we offer a variety of specials. On Friday and Saturday evenings, slowly roasted Black Angus Prime Rib is served. All of our sauces, soups, dressings, sides and desserts are made from scratch. We use only the finest and freshest seafood. Our oysters and soft shell crabs come locally from the Rappahannock River. We also offer dry-packed scallops, shrimp, salmon and a "Catch of the Day." Our beef is Black Angus, New York Strip Steaks are hand cut and trimmed, while our Filet Mignon are center barrel cut and dry aged.
We have German draft selections, plus a large variety of bottled imported beer, as well as a full bar selection. We also have an extensive wine list with a variety of reds, whites, rose and sparkling. We offer a wonderful selection of house wine by the glass. Reservations are suggested.
